Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (GSFC) has a strong Research & Development Centre (R&D) team which has developed many commercial formulations leading to setting up of new plants at Vadodara, developed many types of agriculture formulations and improved the quality of fertilizer products, carried out technical improvement in existing plants and product quality, etc. R&D division of GSFC has an annual budget of approximately Rs. 3.3 Crore and the Head of R&D leads a dedicated team of around 22 scientists, engineers and analysts.

R&D team is presently involved in developing new organic and inorganic products in line with GSFC’s present business and advanced variety of fertilizers.

Once a product is developed at the lab scale, R&D Head finalizes the process parameters and supports the Design Group of GSFC for finalizing basic and detailed engineering for commercializing the process. Expertise is also frequently required to assess the quality and technical strength of material, resolve unexpected performance issues in material used in construction of various equipments, debottlenecking, improving the plant efficiency, etc.

Head of R&D is also expected to actively interact with scientists and academicians of GSFC University and involve them in various research projects.
